Room for Improvement

There are some opportunities to improve.  These things are on the list:

  • Boss attack in phase 2/4 slows down slightly in browser play. (you can download the game if this is an issue)
  • Smart camera zooming would improve gameplay in scenarios where boss too far away from the player.

that was pretty cool, though the downloaded version was definitely better

Thanks! The coffee roasters are a little intense on the browser builds... it doesn't become unplayable, but it can be felt. (I'm sure it varies from browser to browser)

Glad you had some fun!

Both challenging and super fun! Paired well with my morning coffee :)

This game proves why I chose not to have a dependency on coffee.

A very nice and polished game, the game doesn't feel too hard, yet it feels good when you finally beat Cortado. The music's quite fun as well during the fight.

A very accomplished 2D jam game and one of my personal favourites of the Boss Battle jam. It has everything. Gameplay, story, looks, polish, feel and lots of coffee. Great work Xed :D

Wow amazing game, i like how the fight feels, it original. I like how mention what tools you used, very helpful for me as a newbie. As a newbie i was wondering how you did the collision for the walls, it feels like there  curves. I understand how to do rectangle but curves not so much

You just reminded me of a tool I forgot to list! I used Tiled to make CSV file that tells the game where the curved edge of the arena is. I'd be happy to give you lots more detail on that. I can typically be found in the DragonRuby Discord.
